Weekly Log 7 (March 21-27)

This week, our group worked on our poster for the research symposium. The first draft was due on Friday, March 23rd, 2018. Dr. Adel El Shahat, our faculty advisor gave us the poster templates and we created sections for the abstract, introduction, simulation, results, conclusion and references. A copy of our poster is shown in the figure below:

We also did some more work on our project in the power engineering lab. We couldn’t get our wind turbine to charge our battery because it was generating less than 12V which was the rated battery voltage. We learned about a wind tunnel that is housed in the Carruth building that could help our wind turbine generate enough voltage. For the following week, we intend to get familiar with the operation of the wind tunnel and begin transporting our project to the Carruth building for testing.
