This week, our group met together to test our components. The week started of fairly rough as majority of our group was out sick; however, work was still to be done. Figure 1 shows our PV panel producing 21V DC and 5.07A (Figure 2). Figure 3 shows the PV Panel we will be using for our project, which produces a total of 100W.

Our group was also able to test our wind turbine. We did so by turning on a fan (Figure 4) we had in Dr. Adel’s lab and got the turbine spinning. Since our wind turbine produces DC power, we implemented an inverter to AC since our charge controller needs an input of AC. We are implementing a safety feature going into the inverter as well as going into the charge controller. Our setup has our wind turbine directly connected to a circuit breaker then going into the inverter- we will also be having our inverter connected to another circuit breaker before reaching the charge controller. Figure 5 shows our setup of the circuit breaker attached before the inverter. For the upcoming week, we plan on testing our charge controller to assure that the PV panel and wind turbine work/display property on the controller.
